April 18, 2017 - The Yukon government has given Teslin Tlingit Council $150,000 to convert 10 community buildings to a district heating system by installing nine biomass boilers.

Brad Stoneman, a member of the Teslin Tlingit Council’s project team, told CBC News the First Nation plans to use sawdust from their own sawmill to fuel the new boilers.

A Yukon government news release says the project includes the purchase and installation of a district heating system and the expansion of existing wood processing operations by upgrading and purchasing equipment.
