July 3, 2015 – A biomass-fuelled generator has been proposed for producing electricity in Flamborough, Ont.

The Cecil Kalyn biomass project would convert sawdust supplied by lumber mills in northern Ontario into wood pellets that would be used to generate upwards of 250 kilowatts of electricity, according to a recent report by the CBC.

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is looking to generate 50 megawatts of bioenergy as part of a larger plan to create 300 megawatts of green energy, supplied through wind power, solar power, bioenergy and hydro.
