BC First Nation endorses Sea 2 Sky for biomass

Nov. 6, 2009, Ferndale, WA – Renewable bioenergy company Sea 2 Sky Corporation has
received the endorsement of the Lake Babine Indian Nation (LBN) of Burns Lake,
British Columbia, to proceed with agreements to develop the biomass resources
of the Lake Babine area for alternative energy uses in North America. The LBN
has substantial volumes of fibre biomass under its control. It and other
indigenous peoples have been in consultations with the BC Department of
Forestry and various industry sectors to develop these resources to improve the
local economy by salvaging pine-beetle-killed trees to lower greenhouse gasses
and global warming and provide employment for local people in the bioenergy
industry.

Sky's presentation involved Sea 2 Sky processing the biomass locally for sale
into the North American bioenergy market. The resolution provides a framework
to Sea 2 Sky that the LBN will provide a sufficient amount of biomass annually
on a long-term basis for local processing via torrefaction. In addition, Sea 2
Sky is in the first stage of planning a modern biomass plant to produce
renewable energy pellets, bioliquids, carbon, biochar, and other related
products on local land to stimulate the local economy.

looks forward to providing environmental solutions that can reduce carbon
emissions and improving carbon sequestration by harvesting decaying biomass and
replanting new trees. Benefits of this project include reducing forest fire
hazards to environment and community associated with beetle-killed timber and
contributing environmentally sustainable products such as densified high-energy
pellets for heat and electricity.
