BC loggers partner to salvage logging debris, reduce slash burning

Two central B.C. loggers are collaborating on a new initiative to salvage logging debris in areas impacted by the 2017 wildfires.

The collaboration between the Williams Lake Indian Band’s Borland Creek Logging and Tsi Del Del Enterprises will see both companies grinding roadside logging debris and transporting the biomass to Atlantic Power and Pinnacle Pellet Williams Lake, the Williams Lake Tribune reports.

The partners expect to produce about 20 loads of biomass a shift, which would otherwise be burned in slash piles.
