
Biomass, biogas not getting deserved recognition under RESS, bioenergy association says

Biomass and biogas aren’t getting the recognition they deserve under the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS), claims the Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA).
The association says RESS instead is biased toward wind and solar power. The wind doesn’t always blow and the sun doesn’t always shine, says IrBEA CEO Sean Finan.
The second phase of RESS doesn’t provide details of specific category allocations for biomass and biogas.
