Equipment Co., the BLL Wood Chip Moisture Meter employs a 39 inch (1 m)
long probe to measure moisture content in piles of wood chips in seconds with
no prior sample preparation. It automatically converts wood moisture into
percentage of water content (from 10 to 50%) and displays the results, along
with the sample temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius, on a large, well-lit LCD
Other performance-enhancing features
include automatic averaging, automatic temperature compensation, and a built-in
data logger that stores up to 10,000 measurements along with date, batch, and
temperature. Gauge menus can be specified in English, German, French, Italian,
Spanish, or Russian.
Battery powered for portability, the BLL
goes where it is needed. It can detect moisture-related machinery issues before
problems arise. It also helps biomass producers, suppliers, and end users
ensure that they are not paying for excessive water content.
The BLL comes pre-programmed with three
separate calibration curves as described in the European Standards: wood chips,
coarse wood chips, and industrial wood chips.
The complete kit includes the gauge, probe,
batteries, and manual in a custom-fitted, wooden carrying case. Two models are
available, the BLL and the BLL-232, which includes an RS-232 interface,
transfer cable, and software. It has a two-year warranty.
