Chapleau, Ontario, sawmill gets wood supply

June 28, 2011 – Chapleau, Ontario-based Niska North Inc. has accepted a wood supply offer of 97,800 cubic-metres/year.

Niska North Inc. has accepted a wood supply offer of 97,800 cubic-metres/year
of white birch, poplar, red and white pine, and other conifer, which it will
use to diversify its product line. The company manufactures lumber, siding,
decking, fence posts, mouldings, logs for log homes, fuelwood, and mulch. In
addition, the sawmill will add equipment to process smaller logs to improve
recovery and reduce costs.

"The additional Crown wood provides the opportunity to quickly respond to
value-added markets for all wood species," says Wade Cachagee, president
of Niska North.
