Pallets
and other urban wood waste are handled quickly by the Dynamic 5240.

Aug.
5, 2010, Columbia, SC – Building on its Dynamic line of Cone-Head chippers,
Norco Equipment introduces its first-ever grinder, the Dynamic 5240 horizontal
model. Powered by a fuel-efficient Volvo Tier III 425 hp engine, the Dynamic
5240 grinder will produce up to 200 cubic yards/hour from infeed materials up
to 18 inches in diameter. The grinder operates with a 52 inch wide hammermill
and can convert from swing to fixed hammers in as little as 45 minutes.

Chuck
Dull, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Norco Equipment, explains
that the 5240 grinder meets Dynamic design goals by providing a simple yet
rugged machine to help forestry, biomass, and recycling operations spend more
time producing at less cost. Designed to serve a wide range of small to
medium-sized grinding applications, the Dynamic 5240 is cited as an excellent
primary and regrind machine. The hammermill processes materials such as biomass
in the woods, slab wood at the sawmill, tree debris from storm clean up and
site clearing projects, and wood scrap from demolition sites. Switching to
swing hammers converts the 5240 into a regrind station.

Sipping
fuel at just 12 to 14 gallons/hour at full production, the 5240 grinder is also
rugged enough to stand up to demanding, high-volume applications with its
Transfluid coupler. As a true hydraulic fluid coupler, the Transfluid
simplifies service and reduces downtime, with no wear parts. It provides
instant anti-jam protection for the hammermill and drive line.

The
infeed hopper provides a generous 54-inch x 16-foot loading capacity. Processed
material is sized through a selection of 1.5- to 5-inch screens. Screens can be
changed in 15 to 20 minutes. The 36 inch wide belt has a standard discharge
height of 15 feet.

Weighing
less than 38,000 pounds, the wheeled Dynamic 5240 offers operators a horizontal
grinder that transports easily and is agile enough to fit into most job sites.
Models with track drive are also available for sites with soft soil conditions
or unstable terrain.

The
Dynamic brand product line covers a growing family of chippers, grinders, and
screening equipment. Combined with the Puma line of forwarders, harvesters, firewood
processors, and attachments, it represents a versatile range of one-stop,
stump-to-chip solutions.
