LCY Biotechnology purchases BioAmber Sarnia plant

Nov. 7, 2018 - The new owners of BioAmber's bio-succinic acid plant in Sarnia, Ont., plan to retrofit and produce new products, according to the manager of the currently idled facility. LCY Biotechnology purchased the facility last month. 

“Basically, we’re going to keep the plan idle for a little while – up to six months – while they work on bringing some new products into the facility to make it financially viable,” plant manager Trevor Macleod told the Sarnia Observer.
