Lumber output up in BC, down in QC and NB
Jan 28, 2012, Ottawa - Canadian lumber production fell noticeably in November
2011, according to recently-released numbers from Statistics Canada. Year over year numbers were only slightly off.

In November, monthly lumber production fell by 5.7 percent compared to October's numbers. However that was down just 1.1 percent versus the same month a year earlier. Shipments were also only down just 1.8 percent compared to October 2011. Year-to-date as of Nov 30, 2011, Canadian production was up slightly versus 2011 (1.8 percent), with BC production up significantly (7.4 percent), but Quebec (-7.4 percent) and New Brunswick (-6.3 percent) noticeably down.
