Newfoundland continues talks with Rentech

August 28, 2014, St. John’s, Nfld. – The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is continuing its discussions with Rentech about the potential for a new pellet plant in the province just as New Brunswick boosts its efforts to attract the pellet industry.

Newfoundland and Labrador is continuing its discussions with Rentech about the
potential for a new pellet plant in the province just as New Brunswick boosts
its efforts to attract the pellet industry.

 

According to a report from The Telegram, discussions with
Rentech about a pellet plant for the province have returned to the forefront
after the Government of New Brunswick announced plans for a $400,000 wood
pellet plant feasibility study.

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador had invested
upwards of $10 million into the new Holson Forest Products pellet plant in
Roddickton, but that plant has been idled due to a reported lack of storage and
port infrastructure.
