Aug. 29, 2011 – One southeastern United
States pellet producer has expansion plans to build a new facility while
another checks out potential locations for its expansion facility.

Fram Renewable Fuels

Fram Renewable Fuels has entered into an
agreement with Telfair Forest Products (TFP) to build a wood pellet
manufacturing facility at TFP’s Lumber City, Georgia, location. The facility is
expected to produce approximately 125,000 tonnes/year of wood pellets in
addition to TFP’s current shavings production. The procurement plan for this
new venture will require up to 350,000 tons/year of raw material purchases from
the local area.

TFP has produced of premium quality pine
shavings for the horse and animal bedding industry for many years. The addition
of a pellet facility to the well-established shavings plant will enhance the
spectrum of products from TFP and diversify raw material usage at the shavings
plant. The pellet plant will employ approximately 25 people.

With European demand for pellets on the
rise, most of the production of the Lumber City facility will go to Fram’s
existing EU customers.

Construction is expected to begin in August
2011, with start up is scheduled for January 2012. Fram is also currently
evaluating other sites in central Georgia for future wood pellet plant
projects.

Green Circle Bio Energy

Green Circle is currently producing at capacity, 560,000
tons/year of wood pellets. It is looking at possible locations to expand
production to supply its major customers in Europe.
