In an email to Canadian Biomass readers, Vaughan Bassett, senior vice-president, sales and logistics for Pinnacle Renewable Energy (which was acquired by Drax in April 2021), announced the company will be adopting the Drax brand across its North American pellet operations in 2022.

According to Bassett, “This decision brings Drax, Drax Biomass and Pinnacle colleagues under one brand with a common goal: enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.”

Since acquiring Pinnacle Renewable Energy, Drax now has a total of 17 pellet plants across B.C., Alberta and the Southern U.S., with the capacity of producing 4.9 million tonnes of wood pellets annually from 2022.
