Richmond to divert some waste from Harvest Power

Dec. 7, 2016 - City officials in Richmond, B.C., have decided to divert some of the organic waste that supplies Harvest Power to another facility as a short-term solution to complaints about smell.

About 1,200 odour complaints have been filed over the past year relating to the composting and biofuel facility.

“While we understand what the city has done and why they’ve done it, we’re a bit disappointed with it,” Stephen Bruyneel, spokesman for Harvest Power, told the Vancouver Sun.
