Schmid energy solutions, a Switzerland-based developer and manufacturer of biomass boilers since 1936, is strengthening its presence in North America and opening its first branch in Toronto.

The company said it has customers from a wide range of industries, including forestry, timber construction, horticulture, agriculture, and heating plants for public buildings.

After a series of successful projects and partnerships in the North American market, Schmid said it is opening its first branch in Toronto. This step is part of the expansion strategy and enables Schmid to work even more closely with partners and customers. Proximity to the market and a consistent focus on customer needs are an important part of the Schmid Group’s strategic orientation.

The new branch in Toronto is the point of contact for partners, planning offices, fitters, sales agents and governmental organizations who are “looking for a strong partner for reliable and state-of-the-art biomass technology,” it said. The central location makes it possible to process biomass projects and inquiries efficiently and close to the customer, it said.

“Our commitment to technological excellence and sustainability drives us to explore new avenues and develop innovative solutions,” says Philipp Lüscher, CEO Schmid Group. “The current developments underline not only our expertise in renewable energy technology, but also our vision to make a decisive contribution to a sustainable future.”

The company has about 450 employees.
