TWD to build Canada’s largest biodiesel plant

June 6, 2012, Burlington, ON – TWD Technologies has been selected by Great Lakes Biodiesel (GLB) to build Canada’s largest biodiesel plant. It is scheduled to be operational by the Fall of 2012.
TWD is providing full engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) for the Great Lakes Biodiesel Plant located in Welland, Ontario.

Biodiesel is a clean-burning, renewable, organic-based fuel that replaces, or works in concert with petroleum based diesel fuels. The new Great Lakes Biodiesel plant will produce ASTM 6751 quality biodiesel made primarily from Canadian vegetable oils such as canola and soybean.

When completed, the Great Lakes Biodiesel plant will have the capacity to produce 170 million litres of biodiesel per year.
