
Woody biomass powers up Japan

Jan. 20, 2015 – Biomass power is on the rise in Japan after the country introduced an FIT (feed-in-tariff) program in 2012. The subsidy has spurred an increase of biomass power generation facilities – 33 units of varying sizes plan to fire up in 2015.
Six smaller facilities that run on unused wood are already in operation, according to IHB.
