
5 PEI schools to install biomass heating units

Five secondary schools in Prince Edward Island are being retrofitted with biomass boilers this summer, with the hopes of them running this fall.
“It is a tangible way that we are mitigating climate change and moving off of fuel oil using a renewable resource that we can grow right here in the province,” Brad Trivers, PEI’s minister of education and environment, told CBC News.
