Nov 28, 2011, London, UK - RWE npower will start firing Britain's largest dedicated biomass plant at Tilbury in Essex by mid week, and full commercial operations are expected by the end of the year, a spokeswoman said late last week.
The 750 megawatt (MW) power
plant will burn wood pellets to produce electricity and is located on
the site of the utility's aging Tilbury coal-fired power plant, which
will shut down by the end of 2015. See the full report here.
