Sinclar Group to upgrade Premium Pellets wood pellet plant

Sinclar Group is planning to upgrade its Premium Pellets wood pellet plant in Vanderhoof, B.C. The company is currently in the permitting process to expand the facility.

According to Vanderhoof Omineca Express, the expansion could double its air emissions in Vanderhoof, from five to 10 per cent. Sinclar Group plans to implement pollution control measures and create an air quality management plan that would be in place between the operations starting and a new filter system being installed in the next three years.

Dave Herzig, general manager of lumber operations at Sinclar Group, told Vanderhoof Omineca Express that the upgrades will ensure the mill’s longevity and ability to meet its contractual obligations. The upgrades would also help the company overcome closures in the lumber industry and volatile market conditions by using wood waste residuals.
