Whitepaper shares update on Japanese and South Korean pellet imports

August 10, 2023
By FutureMetrics

A brief update from FutureMetrics contains several charts showing the trends in quantity, price per tonne, and market shares for pellet imports into Japan and South Korea.

South Korean pellet imports are primarily based on relatively short-term contracts and thus have much higher price per tonne variability over time. Japanese imports are primarily based on longer terms offtake agreements and, as the chart shows, exhibit higher stability over time.

The update also comments on Russian imports into S. Korea and US imports into Japan.

The update on Japan and S. Korea pellet imports can be found at the FutureMetrics website.
