Biomass heater will heat two PEI schools

Queen Elizabeth Elementary and Kensington Intermediate Senior High School, in Kensington, P.E.I., will soon be heated by biomass.

According to Saltwire Network, the Town of Kensington has approved a development permit for a new structure, which will house a biomass heating plant. Once construction is finished, it will burn wood chips to heat the schools.

Saltwire Network reports it is likely the plan will only come online next school year.
