Industrial customers going to cleaner energy can get discounted BC Hydro rates

Discounted rates are being offered by BC Hydro to industrial customers who seek the use of clean energy for qualified “green” operations.

Power costs are reduced for eligible customers, under the Clean Energy and Innovation Rate, for those involved in carbon sequestration from the atmosphere; hydrogen production from electrolysis; synthetic fuel production from hydrogen, carbon dioxide or biomass; or carbon capture and storage.

To qualify for the discounted rate, customers must show their electrification reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
