New Enbridge-Morgan Solar 10.5-megawatt solar facility opens in Alberta

Enbridge has opened a new 10.5-megawatt solar facility near Burdett, Alta. The $20-million Alberta Solar One project is a partnership between Enbridge and Morgan Solar.

The equivalent energy needs of about 3,000 homes will be produced by the project, but the energy will instead be used to offset Enbridge’s pipeline projects. It will offset about 12,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

Enbridge wishes to use the project toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
