Pinnacle’s Houston plant using more harvest residuals

Pinnacle Renewable Energy’s Houston pellet plant is chipping low grade logs that can’t be used as sawlogs, cant logs or pulp logs, since available supply from Canfor’s Houston sawmill has decreased.

The mill was temporarily closed and is now transitioning to a four-day week schedule, meaning the pellet plant will continue to have difficulty finding enough material, BC Local News reports

“This is a challenge that we have been addressing across BC in response to curtailments and closures. We have filled the gap in our supply by using more harvest residuals versus sawmill residuals during this period,” Jason Fischer, vice-president of Pinnacle Renewable Energy, tells BC Local News.
