Some EU members force delay of sustainable finance rules over gas, biofuel opposition

Opposition of some member states of the European Union over gas and biofuels has forced the Union to delay plans to finalize sustainable finance rules until April.

It was the hope of the European Commission to publish by January a list of “green” economic activities to allow cash funneling into low carbon projects.

In November, however, some countries launched a late push-back seeking to classify gas power as sustainable.
